Woodlawn Housing

Who We Are

The Woodlawn Community Development Corporation(CDC) was created as a direct, grassroots response to the concerns of its residents. Established to support the low-income and diverse residents of the Woodlawn neighborhood of Pawtucket, the Woodlawn CDC strives to improve the economic and social well-being of the Woodlawn community by empowering its residents through education, advocacy and innovation.

The work of this organization has been driven by residents, advocates, and leaders who believe in the revitalization of the Woodlawn neighborhood- a place where positive economic and social opportunities abound and residents are proud to call their home!

The Woodlawn CDC operates as a broad-based community nonprofit organization, collaborating with a diverse set of community residents and agencies to develop programming and services that meet the needs of residents of Woodlawn. In addition to operating the Woodlawn Community Center, the Woodlawn CDC provides or collaborates on numerous programs in the areas of economic development, youth enrichment, adult education, and community solidarity. Education, empowerment, and innovation drive our approach to community development. We see these as the keys to prolonged success. The Woodlawn CDC is committed to providing programs and services needed for residents to achieve their own personal definition of success.

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
